Refund Policy

1. Introduction

The Journal of Applied Linguistics and TESOL (JALT) strives to provide a fair and transparent publication process for all authors. This refund policy outlines the conditions under which a refund may be granted for manuscript submission fees.

2. Submission Fees

JALT charges a submission fee to cover the costs associated with managing the peer-review process. This fee is non-refundable once a manuscript enters the review process.

3. Eligible Refunds

Refunds may be considered in the following situations:

  • Duplicate Submission: If you accidentally submit the same manuscript twice, a full refund will be issued for the duplicate submission.
  • Withdrawal Before Review: If you withdraw your manuscript before it is assigned to reviewers, a full refund will be issued.
  • Journal Rejection of Manuscript Due to Scope Issues: If JALT rejects your manuscript on the grounds that it falls outside the journal's scope, a full refund will be issued.

4. Ineligible Refunds

Refunds will not be granted in the following situations:

  • Withdrawal After Review: Once a manuscript is assigned to reviewers, the submission fee is non-refundable.
  • Editorial Rejection: If your manuscript is rejected following peer review, the submission fee is non-refundable. This includes revisions requested by reviewers that are not completed or revisions that do not address the reviewers' concerns.

5. Refund Process

To request a refund, please contact the JALT editorial team at editor@jalt.com.pk with your manuscript ID and a brief explanation for the refund request.

6. Timeframe for Refunds

Refunds will be processed within 14 business days of receiving your request. The refunded amount will be credited to the original payment method used for the submission fee.
