Abstract

The book “Safineh e Sokhan” is a collection of Persian poetry composed by Syed Muhammad Akram Ikram, a contemporary poet of the subcontinent, in which poetic language is mixed with various manifestations of rhetoric and literary styles. This research aims to analyze the rhetorical richness in this collection and reviews in detail the expressive, visual, and artistic aspects of Ikram's poetry. In this regard, rhetorical terms such as metaphor and simile etc. have been analyzed as central elements of the poet's style. The results of this research show that “Safineh e Sokhan” is a significant work in contemporary Persian poetry of the subcontinent, not only from a content perspective, but also from a rhetorical perspective, and it demonstrates the continuity of classical rhetorical tradition in a new and creative form.
