Multan, often referred to as the "City of Saints," has a rich cultural and literary heritage spanning thousands of years. This study explores the historical evolution of Multan’s cultural and literary landscape, emphasizing the influences of Sufi traditions, Persian and Urdu literature, and local folk practices. The city’s unique confluence of religious, literary, and social dynamics has shaped its identity as a center of intellectual and spiritual activity. By analyzing historical records, literary works, and cultural practices, this research highlights the significance of Multan in the broader context of South Asian literary and cultural history. The study also examines the role of educational institutions, literary gatherings, and religious celebrations in sustaining and transmitting Multan’s cultural legacy. This exploration contributes to a deeper understanding of how Multan’s literary and cultural traditions have influenced regional identity and social cohesion.
