Abstract

This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the existential problems presented by the new atheism, focusing on the Quranic and philosophical responses to these challenges. The research examines the nature of these problems, including the meaning of life and the purpose of existence, freedom and responsibility, death and the afterlife, and ethics and the issue of evil. New atheism often denies a universal purpose and regards moral values as relative, creating significant challenges for individuals and societies in understanding their lives and making ethical decisions. The study also analyzes the Quranic responses, which offer a clear divine and ethical framework for existence and meaning, emphasizing that the purpose of life is achieved through worship and righteous deeds, and that human freedom and responsibility are understood in accordance with divine guidance. Additionally, the study explores philosophical responses within classical and contemporary Islamic philosophy, which provide rational and logical tools for comprehending human purpose, existential meaning, and ethical goals. The research highlights that the integration of reason and faith is essential for addressing the existential void posed by new atheistic thought.

The study concludes that a combined Quranic and philosophical framework equips individuals and societies to confront the existential void, maintaining a balance between freedom, responsibility, and ethical and spiritual meaning. It further examines the social impact of atheistic thought and demonstrates how Quranic and philosophical responses can practically strengthen human and moral values while restoring individual and collective identity.
