Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools have increasingly influenced the writing performance of students studying English as a Foreign Language (EFL). This study examines AI-assisted tools that contribute to the development of EFL learners’ writing abilities: the AI tools Geminin, ChatGPT, Grook, and Grammarly have transformed the way students approach writing tasks and have generally enhanced their writing performance. Despite these benefits, AI tools also present several challenges, such as excessive reliance on skill, possible deterioration of fundamental writing skills, and ethical issues, including plagiarism. Furthermore, this study explores AI-Assisted writing and its effects on writing accuracy and creativity. This qualitative study involves 16 college students to examine the effects of AI. The results were evaluated in themes and presented in graphs. The present research indicates that the greatest improvements in student performance occur when AI tools are employed, and writing skills are affected for a balanced approach in which AI complements, rather than replaces, human instruction, enabling teachers to improve students’ writing outcomes.
