Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of peer feedback in enhancing second language (L2) writing skills across multiple sites, employing a replication approach under the auspices of the Japan Association for Language Teaching (JALT). Drawing on established theories of peer feedback and L2 writing development, this multi-site study aims to provide robust empirical evidence regarding the efficacy of peer feedback interventions. The research design encompasses diverse learning contexts and participant demographics to ensure the generalizability of findings. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, quantitative measures including pre- and post-intervention assessments and qualitative analyses of participant perceptions and experiences are employed to comprehensively evaluate the impact of peer feedback on L2 writing proficiency. The study findings contribute to the existing body of literature on language learning pedagogy, offering insights into the practical implementation and optimization of peer feedback strategies to foster L2 writing competence.
