A FEMINIST STUDY OF MUSHARRAF ALAM ZAUQI'S NOVEL 'NALA-E-SHABGIR'"
Abstract
Feminism, a pivotal movement of the twentieth century, advocates for the rights of women. As part of this movement, Urdu literature also saw the emergence of novels that explored these themes. In his novel "Nala-e-Shabgir", Musharraf Alam Zaudi highlights the feminist movement. The novel narrates the stories of two women, one of whom remains silent and does not raise her voice for her rights, while the other character is a rebel who, fed up with the societal injustices, chooses to adopt a path of protest for herself. This novel is a unique tale of a woman’s suffering, her exploitation, as well as her protest and vengeance. A woman who raises her voice for justice in society is ultimately silenced, often at the cost of her life.
