Abstract

“Yousuf Bin Tashfeen” is a historical novel by Naseem Hijazi which tells the story of Andulus during the dark ages of Europe. During this period, Andulus which was a touch bearer of light for entire Europe was sinking into the depths of darkness. This novel highlights the sad down fall of the glorious nation. This period witness social ups and downs of the falling nation. Yousuf Bin Tashfeen as a character marks the life of an individual who win against odds by sheer dint of his commitment and strong determination. It suggests that man of commitment can never be defeated. To sum up, this novel depicts the present, past and future of its time with all its historical aspects and characteristics.
