Abstract

The fact is that Western civilization, the Western way of thinking and its inductive and analytical style are indebted to Islamic civilization, but this cannot be acceptable to Spengler because he advocates for a permanent gap between different cultures. How can Spengler say that Western culture has been influenced by Islamic culture in its interpretation and formation? By admitting this, his own self-sufficient concept of culture can collapse. Concepts like the savior or the appearance of the Messiah in the Magian culture are contradictory to the concept of finality in Islam. The concept of Khatm-e-Nabvut in Islam has negated all such ideas. In fact, the cultural value and cultural status of the principle of Khatm-e-Nabvut could not be made clear to Spengler. According to Dr. Javed Iqbal Noor, the original Magianism believed in the existence of false gods, although it denied their worship. Islam denies the existence of false gods. Spengler could not understand this, therefore the cultural status of the principle of Khatm-e-Nabvut in Islam could not be made clear to him. If fantasies like the Mahdi or the appearance of the Messiah are present in Islamic civilization, then they are only the result of pagan influences, otherwise they have nothing to do with the true spirit of Islam. Ibn Khaldun, in his dynamic and evolutionary concept of history, has criticized such Islamic beliefs that are against the evolutionary spirit of Islamic civilization. Islamic culture, parallel to its universality, also possesses internal unity. Islamic culture is not only spatially expansive, but also has the capacity to spread in terms of time.
