The year of the Partition of India holds special significance in the history of India. In 1947, India was freed from the chains of slavery after a long time, but at the same time, the events of the Partition of India had created a strange and mournful atmosphere. The world of grief and anger was that man had forgotten the distinction between good and evil. This was the reason why the dawn of independence brought bloodshed and destruction, migration and riots, religious hatred and inhumane incidents.
The event of the Partition of India itself was a great tragedy, and its severe reaction came in the form of riots and the story of killing and destruction was created that has stained the pages of history. This is why Faiz Ahmad Faiz has called it a “morning after the night”
The impact of such critical conditions was visible in all spheres of human life. Its profound effects were also seen in the field of literature. Be it poems or prose, novels or short stories, a series of writings on partition and riots began. Our writers were not only recording the bloody story of them with their pens, but were also doing the work of educating the mind with their writings. This paper is written in these scenario.
