This paper examines the central social dimensions articulated in the prose of Urdu fiction writer IkramUllah. His narratives consistently engage with socio-economic disparities, the psychological repercussions of modernity, and the pervasive structures of social oppression. Through understated symbolism and finely crafted character portrayals, IkramUllah exposes moral hypocrisy, patriarchal constraints, and the erosion of communal ethical frameworks. His work reflects a distinctive synthesis of psychological realism and social critique, demonstrating how individual distress is deeply rooted in broader cultural and institutional forces. Ultimately, his prose articulates a sustained quest for human dignity, ethical coherence, and authentic human relationships within an increasingly fragmented social environment.
