THE ROLE OF SKEPTICISM (TASHKEEK) IN THE POETRY OF PROGRESSIVE URDU POETS.

Skepticism is a philosophical attitude that involves questioning the certainty, validity, or truth of knowledge, beliefs, or claims. A skeptic does not accept ideas without critical examination and demands logical or empirical proof.
This article examines the role of scepticism (tashkeek) in the poetry of Progressive Urdu poets. Though known for their social and political commitment, these poets often use skepticism to question traditional beliefs, expose social injustices, and challenge oppressive systems some progressive poets Faiz, Ali Sardar Jafri, Sahir, Habib Jalib, Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi, Ahmad Faraz, the study shows that skeptical elements deepen the intellectual and emotional impact of Progressive poetry.
