Abstract

This article presents a comprehensive, systematic, and scholarly critical analysis of Tarikh-e-Kashmir by Muhammad-ud-Din Foq. The study examines in depth the author’s style of writing, the nature and authenticity of the historical material presented, the scope and reliability of the sources employed, as well as the ideological orientations embedded within the text. Furthermore, the research critically evaluates the work’s significance in historiography and determines its role in shaping the historical understanding of Kashmir.

Muhammad Din Fauq not only loved Kashmir but also had a deep interest in its history.He is regarded as a historian of Kashmir.His writings always reflect elements of history in one way or another.In his magazine Kashmiri Magzine,he also wrote about the history of Kashmir.
