Abstract

Punjabi language has been greatly blessed by the divine, as it has always been cherished by mystics, saints, and spiritual figures. When we delve into the tales and literary traditions of Punjabi, we encounter remarkable creators such as Damodar Das Khatri, Ahmed Gujjar, Hafiz Shahjahan Muqbil, and Waris Shah. These luminaries, through their exceptional craftsmanship, enriched Punjabi literature with timeless tales, leaving an everlasting legacy.

Hafiz Shahjahan Muqbil and Syed Waris Shah are poets of successive generations. Muqbil is credited with the distinction of writing Heer before Waris Shah, thereby setting a precedent. It is a well-established fact that creators often draw inspiration from one another, influencing each other in various ways. This influence is evident not only in the use of language but also in the narrative plots, characters, and dialogues of their works.

When we study the tales composed by Hafiz Shahjahan Muqbil and Waris Shah, it becomes apparent that Muqbil had a profound impact on Waris Shah. This mutual influence underscores the interconnectedness of their creative endeavors.
